Honoured to gift you this exclusive short Nowruz film, created and directed by the talented Persian-Burmese Artist @cookingchaos___ (Nouna Khorasanee). Listen with your eyes, as she takes us on a journey, illustrating the ancient sentiment of this vernal equinox and start of spring. Nouna is an animator, writer and designer. She tells the stories of our subconscious mind through her intuitive and raw animations. Every piece allows you to dive a little deeper into your mind and brings your emotions out to play. Her unique art draws inspiration from her Persian and Burmese roots. We wanted this film to embody all of the parts of Nowruz that we’ve grown up with in the diaspora, or heard about from our parents of Nowruz in our motherlands. Despite growing up in the UAE, Nouna spent most of her childhood summers in Iran. Like many of us, Nouna has warm memories of this day from childhood. From the days preparing the traditional Haft-sin in the lead-up to Nowruz, to seeing the flowers bud and bloom. Many of us in the diasporas haven’t visited our motherlands or haven’t been in years. Across several of our motherlands, today holds special ancient roots; Iran, Afghanistan, Kurdistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Central Asia, China, Georgia and India. With love, to all who celebrate; Nowruz Mobarak! May this solar year bring us all peace, good health and increasing light. ☀️ Written | Directed | Created by @cookingchaos___ Sound by @Svmirumusic
